13 March 2018 @ 8:50pm @ Preah Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh: The moment I walked into an emergency room at a hospital to visit my mom, I met with a man who appeared to me with a very sad face and full of tears in his eyes. I could not stop to ask about his situation but rushing to see my mom for she had an accident and needs an immediate surgery on her right knee. While talking with my mom, the doctor invited me to meet him in his room to hear about her condition. While I walked in the doctor’s room; I meet that man again. This time, I saw him looked very frustrated while holding a piece of paper in his hand. I stood behind him and listened to what the doctor was explaining to him about his son’s condition that his son needs an immediate surgery for his legs were broken and very serious injure after the moto accident. He explained to the doctor that he is very poor and does not have enough money to pay for the hospital bill for his son. He begged the surgeon to do a surgery for his son but the response was NO. He took a step back and turned around and about to leave the doctor’s room, I suddenly felt very strongly that God is quietly spoke to me and touch my heart and filled it with His compassion toward this man and willing to meet his need during his difficult time. I quickly stopped that man and asked to see the bill in his hands, I told him that “I am a Christian. And Jesus wants to meet your need”. I handed him money to pay for the bill in his hand. He looked at me, and I can see the relief on his face, a thanksgiving and a joy in his eyes. He quickly ran to the cashier to pay for the bill happily.
While i was waiting to send my mom into a surgery room, I took that opportunity to visit his wife and son. I shared with his wife about God’s love and His compassion toward her son. I asked her permission to pray for her son while he was in a great pain. She said YES I can pray for him. After I prayed for him, she held my hands and her eyes full of tears but had a big smile on her face with a thankful heart for what the Lord has met her need in a difficult time.
Personally, I am thankful and appreciate my God’s heart and compassion toward this family.
