Cambodian petanque players did well again on the international stage.
The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) announced yesterday that Cambodia won seven medals in the 4th Asian Boules Sport Confederation Petanque Championship.
The Kingdom’s total haul include three gold, two silver and a couple of silver medals.
Cambodian athletes bagged gold medals in three categories (men’s 3×3, men’s shooting and junior shooting).
Cambodia sent a 27-member delegation to the tournament, which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from November 10 to 14. The group included 20 players, three managers and four coaches.
The Cambodian side competed against their counterparts from Thailand, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries.
This is the latest success for the Federation of Boules and Pétanque of Cambodia (FBPC), which is now headed by a new president, Sok Sokan.
